When I decided to go dairy-free, the first thing I knew I would miss was PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA!!! I’ve tried plenty of dairy-free, frozen, pizza brands and dairy-free pizzas at restaurants and never had any luck finding that mouth-watering New York City-type slice I crave almost every day! Making a dairy-free pizza from scratch launched me to create a blog to showcase my dairy-free spins on classic recipes.

Here is my cast-iron vegan cheese pizza recipe: dairy-free, vegan, and even milk lovers will ENJOY!

Please let me know what you think and send pictures of your creations in the comments!

Step 1: Preheat oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2: On a dry, clean, surface put approximately 3-4 pinches of all-purpose flour to cover your surface.

Step 3: Place about 3/4 of your pizza dough on top of the flour and stretch it to the size of your cast iron skillet.

Step 4: Place 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in your skillet and spread around the entire skillet (the sides and bottom).

Step 5: Place stretched dough inside the skillet.

Step 6: Heat your skillet on the stovetop at medium-high heat until the bottom begins to slightly brown (for approximately 3 minutes). While the bottom is crisping, spoon on some tomato sauce and spread around leaving about 1 inch for the crust.

Step 7: Add toppings: sprinkle vegan mozzarella, add small dollops of vegan feta and vegan ricotta, add cherry tomatoes between vegan cheese dollops, then sprinkle minced garlic around the entire vegan pizza.

Step 8: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes.

Step 9: Remove the skillet from the oven and then remove the vegan pizza from the skillet and place it on a heat-resistant surface (such as a cutting board or pizza pan). Let rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing (it will be hard to wait, but a burnt tongue can't taste greatness LOL).

Step 10: Top with chopped fresh basil, a drizzle of olive oil, and a little salt/pepper (to your liking), and prepare to have a vegan experience that you've never had before!
